 River’s Edge Gallery is pleased to present “Family Affair” featuring Nora Chapa Mendoza and Laurie Psarianos. 

“Family Affair” will showcase their first mother/daughter at River’s Edge Gallery from October 18th to November 8th. It promises to be a unique celebration of their artistic collaboration. The multidisciplinary works by the Mendoza & Psarianos will convey their rich artistic journeys and captivate the senses.

Nora Chapa Mendoza (born 1932) is a prominent Metro Detroit artist whose outstanding career enhances the countless projects, causes and institutions edifying Chicano-Indigenous pride, American Southwestern roots. Nora’s determination in the advancement of causes near to her heart: civil rights, fair labor practices, and heritage.

To name all of Mendoza’s achievements and contributions are overwhelming to say the least, the reason She was named the 2024 Kresge Eminent artist.

Laurie Psarianos (born 1956) born in Highland Park, Michigan. The art career of her mother Nora Chapa Mendoza influenced her unwavering passion for the arts  which is the true love of her world where music is a close second where Psarianos has carved out a career and business Psarianos Violins Ltd. “I have a very lucky balance between art and music!!!!!”
