Words from the artist-

I've always felt that birds are as curious about humans as we are about them, often availing themselves of objects that humans leave behind.

My style is contemporary realism, influenced by the works of Rembrandt and Vermeer. Much of my work is an unusual blend of nature and still life, capturing that moment in time when a bird interacts with a recently touched human object, preferably antique or vintage.

Familiar objects are chosen carefully, so as to craft an authentic and relatable story that evokes a feeling of nostalgia, the hint of vulnerability, and a sense of connectedness.

The timelessness of oils with their buttery, luminous qualities make them the perfect medium in which to render these stories.

I continue to learn and grow by following the works and writings of artists living today and often include the written back-story behind a painting.
