David Bowie
David Bowie
9X12 watercolor on french pressed paper
When Bowie died, I wondered why it bothered me so much. Being this a person I never knew. Then i read an article about such things and it said that these are the people that help you define who you are, who you want to be, or like to be,for that matter. I liked that and soon realized the truth in it. Bowie was always there, really. Spiders from Mars, Ziggy Stardust, The Thin White Duke, Etc… This guy wasn’t Zeppelin, The Who or the Beatles. He was unique. Made one think about things. I remember sitting at a friend’s house one morning before school watching the video for scary monsters and superfreaks and thinking how weird it was, but how freaking awesome it was, too. All those great lyrics, They were distinctly Bowie. A true artist. ~ Bruce Gerlach
