Tony Miello, originally from Brooklyn, New York, lives in Wyandotte Michigan and works as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist. Miello has spent the last twenty five years working with and on independent comics and gained a loyal fan base as the creator of the comic strip GAPO the Clown, which started as a web strip and is now published as a comic book with the third book on the horizon.

Tony has worked on licensed properties for Marvel Entertainment, DC Comics and LucasFilms and was commissioned by the city of Wyandotte to create the official Wyandotte art fair “Art” in 2014 co-founded Rocket Ink Studios which publishes graphic novels and art books of original and licensed material.

Tony Miello’s 1st solo exhibition in fine art was in 2018 at River’s Edge Gallery where he has continued to display his work and has garnered national and international collectors. His last series of macabre paintings were featured in Germany at the ANRA Kunstlerhaus Lottstetten in their latest show REBMEVON

New additions to the Macabre Series will be on display at River’s Edge Gallery Jan 21st - February 13th. Mr Miello says he has been fascinated by macabre imagery since his youth, enjoying classic horror films with his father. The inspiration derives from their stories with that  element of surprise and how the power of imagination coalesces the wonder of earlier basic special effects before the digital age.
